As a small way of giving back for all the favors Rosie has done for me, I granted her a one-on-one photo shoot. She mentioned she wanted to do something in the style of a “look-book.” Whatever that means. After doing a bit of research and tossing ideas back and forth, we decided to shoot on the abandoned railroad tracks right next to the studio.
This time she handled her own makeup and hair, which gave the shoot a more personal touch. Since it was noon and the sun was pretty harsh, she came prepared with an umbrella to diffuse the light a bit. It softened the shadows just enough to make it work without lugging around extra gear.
She ended up being really happy with the photos, which made the whole effort worth it. It was also a nice chance to connect with her outside of the usual studio work setting. Just us experimenting and figuring things out together.
