Melrose after dark.

I went on a photo walk down Melrose Avenue last night. I didn’t actually have a plan. I just grabbed my camera and started walking. The city always feels different at night.

Quieter.

But somehow more alive in the details.

I shot a lot of neon signs. Caught some moments behind restaurants and shops. People on breaks, sharing smokes, lost in conversation. It felt like scenes from a movie that no one else was watching.

The strangest and coolest thing I saw was a fire hydrant with a bunch of electric scooters tangled around it. It looked totally unintentional but also kind of modern art.

There’s something about walking around with a camera at night that makes you notice the small stuff. The things you’d miss if you were just trying to get from point A to point B.
