I did my first-ever photo shoot at Laguna Beach in the Spring of 2012. And I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The model was amazing. She was enthusiastic, full of energy, and naturally great in front of the camera. She had a ton of poses ready to go, but was also completely open to any ideas I threw her way. On top of that, she came with her own creative suggestions, which made the whole thing feel like a real collaboration.

We kept going until sunset. After we wrapped up, we went our separate ways. Later, I sent her the edited shots, and she loved them. Which, as a photographer, is always the best thing you can hear.

Unfortunately, between scheduling conflicts and life in general, we never managed to do another shoot together. Still, that day sticks out as one of those great firsts I’m glad I had.
