Labubu.

My wife recently inherited a bag full of unopened boxes of Labubus from a friend who suddenly decided to step away from it. Out of curiosity, we opened a few. And then a few more. Neither of us knows much about next-gen toy figures, so we were blown away by the details and overall quality of the toys.

And almost immediately, I had an idea: why not use them to practice some macro photography?

So I pulled out my gear, downloaded a few high-resolution landscape wallpapers and threw them up on the living room’s big-screen to use as backgrounds. Then I set up my lights, stands, and camera, and started experimenting.

What a blast.

Shooting these little guys up close revealed all sorts of tiny textures and details that you’d normally miss. Framing them against the backgrounds made it feel like they were dropped right into another world.

I think I’ve stumbled onto a new hobby. One that combines my love of photography with just a bit of fun toy collecting on the side.
